During the Autosport International racing car show, VW has taken its wraps off its new and remarkable VW Jetta TSI Sport. What makes this VW model real cool is that it has been fed with an engine-driven supercharger and a turbo-charger that is being powered by exhaust gas. And what better way to unveil it than in an international racing car show right?

VW to introduce new models in India to increase sales

Being one of the biggest automakers in Europe, VW is always on the lookout of ways to increase its sales and production. This year, its strategy is to bring in new models in India to help boost up its already high sales.

VW announced that it will be launching two new models in India and after its Indian plant has been completed nest year, it plans to produce 110,000 vehicles annually as well.

The president of VW India, Joerg Mueller, said, “We will get our ‘Jetta’ (sedan) to the Indian market this summer while the luxury sedan ‘Phaeton’ will also be introduced this year.”

The Indian auto market is already fast-growing and so giant automakers such as Volkswagen are already fast-exploring their potential sales in the said auto market and bringing in their models to be sold.

Aside from this, VW is also saying that its goal is to launch a small car that is based on the mini-hatchback Polo in 2010. Price of this small car has not yet been disclosed by the German automaker.

VW announced its small car plan perhaps to give information that it also plans to offer an affordable car as Tata Group is scheduled t reveal the world’s cheapest car, “People’s Car,” in the upcoming auto show in the country. It is considered as the cheapest as it costs only about 100,000 rupees or 2,500 dollars.

Tata Group’s new vehicle offer has actually triggered a race among automakers to be able to produce the best and most affordable, that is to say, least expensive vehicle.

By 2009, VW is expecting that the manufacturing plant it is putting up now in Chakan near Pune will be completed and fully operational. This wil have a production capacity of 110,000 vehicles and it will be the assembly plant for the “Polo” variant and Skoda “Fabia,” both of which are scheduled to be launched in 2010.

VW is actually already selling its premium “Passat” sedan and luxury sports utility vehicle “Touareg” in India as it was predicted that sales in the Indian auto market will double to two million units by 21010.

On the other hand, the Jetta will be assembled in Aurangabad in the western state of Maharashtra, at the Volkswagen Skoda plant. This plant produces around 25,000 Skodas yearly for the auto market in India. Meanwhile, VW will have its Phaeton imported.

VW is also seriously considering bringing its SUV, the VW Tiguan, in the Indian market as it considers India as “a key market for strategic growth.”

Extend The Life Of Your New Or Used Car

You don't think much about your car do you? Your car sits outside 24/7, 365 days a year in all extremes of weather. You routinely drive it at speeds that exceed 70 mph. You stop, start, stop, start through city traffic. You sit idling in traffic jams day after day. Yet, you expect your car to start every time you get into it and turn the key.

The best thing that you can do to extend the life of your car, and to potentially save yourself a bundle of money, is to have your car serviced on a routine basis. All car manufacturers have a schedule of recommended services for each vehicle they sell. Follow this schedule. The best place to have work done on a new vehicle that is still under warranty is the dealership.

It's a bit different when you have an older, out of warranty car. At this point you can make a decision to continue to use the dealer for service, or find yourself a local mechanic.

The first rule of thumb is to have the oil in your car changed every 3,000 miles. This is the simplest and most important part of routine maintenance for your car. At that time, whether you go to a "speedy" oil change business or to your mechanic, the technician will take a look at the overall condition of your engine. They'll check belts and hoses and fluid levels of your transmission and brakes. They'll check your air cleaner and the condition of your tires. Some of these drive through services also offer add on's such as engine cleaning and radiator flushes. If they think they see something that could become potentially serious they will tell you about it and suggest you take your car to a mechanic.

Cars have really changed over the years and most technicians use computers to diagnose problems. You'll need to be able to describe the problem to the mechanic. They'll need to know things such as when you first noticed the problem and exactly under what condition it happens. Does it happen when the car is cold, or after it warms up? Does it happen when you're at an idle or when your accelerating? If you don't use the same mechanic have a copy of your car's service record with you so that the new mechanic can see what maintenance been done in the past. It's best to find a mechanic you're comfortable with and stay with him. Knowing your car's history can go a long way towards helping him diagnose and fix a problem. br>
Learn to listen to your car. If you hear an unusual noise, notice a change in it's performance or handling take it to your mechanic.

About the author:
This article courtesy of http://www.bmw-owners-guide.com

Circulated by Article Emporium

Are You Tired of Trite Tips on Fuel Savings

In these days of record high fuel prices affecting already stretched budgets, many of us are looking for tips on fuel savings. Unfortunately, most tips are “no-brainers”.

Some suggest staying within posted speed limits because “…the faster you drive, the more fuel you use.” Daah !!! Explain that to a teenager!

Oh, here’s one – “combine errands”. Come on, anyone who runs a household figured that one out eons ago, just to maintain sanity.

Here’s another I just love – remove excess weight. Hmm… let me think, I can make the kids walk to their sports events or mall, and meet them when they arrive. And, of course, ban any friends from catching a ride. But then again, when the riot occurs, the police will have to use their fuel instead.

After much research, here’s a few fuel savings tips I found that actually make sense:

1. Depending on a vehicle’s condition, you can increase fuel savings simply by keeping your engine tuned.
2. Maintaining proper inflation of tires can increase fuel savings by up to 6%.
3. Replace air, oil, and fuel filters regularly. Clogged filters decrease fuel savings.

But the best tip to date is this simple fuel savings solution:

A small Power Pill, the size of a penny, that can be dropped into the tank at fill up. Here’s what the PowerPill does:

· Provides fuel savings averaging 15% on cars and 20% on diesel trucks
· Conditions the engine by cleaning it, resulting in eliminating and preventing what is known as “carbon deposits”, the culprit behind decreased fuel savings.
· Lowering octane requirements, thus saving an additional 5¢ to 10¢ per gallon.
· More savings on maintenance by extending the life of spark plugs, valves, engine, and frequent oil changes.
· Environmental benefits by significantly reducing toxic pollutants, which in essence allows us to breathe cleaner air and live longer.

N.A.S.A. engineered and SAE tested over a decade ago, global results can be found at http://www.thepowerpill.com/tests including the most recent unsolicited tests performed by Dial-A-Cab taxi drivers in London.

For more information, visit http://www.helpwithfuelprices.com

About the author:
Dee Scrip is a well known and respected published expert author of numerous articles on PowerPill Fe-3, Home Business, Business Opportunities, Fundraising, VoIP, VoIP Security, and other related VoIP issues.
http://www.ubpill.com
http://www.free-pc-phone.com
Fuel Savings Tips

Circulated by Article Emporium

VW BlueMotions for Rent!

VW Polo BlueMotion models have been delivered to Europe’s most environment-friendly car rental company, the Green Motion Vehicle Rental. This permits the rental company to rent these BlueMotion Polos to its customers. Customers will now be able to experience driving a class-leading vehicle emitting less carbon dioxide emissions and having great fuel economy without having to buy one. That’s not all. Customers of Green Motion Vehicle Rental can also look forward to driving the BlueMotion models of Estate, Passat Saloon and Estate, and the Golf Hatchback as the rental company will also add these later in the year to its fleet of green vehicles for rent.

Green Motion Vehicle Rental has three active hire locations – Palmers Green in North London, Oxford, and in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire. Palmers Green will be the first one to get the first VW Polo BlueMotion as it will be fist allocated in that operation. This particular VW Polo BlueMotion vehicle was supplied by Ridgeway Volkswagen in Newbury, Buckshire and had been funded by the Lombard Vehicle Management. A total of 300 Golf and Passat BlueMotion models are scheduled to arrive later in the year.

Richard Lowden, the Managing Director o0f Green Motion Vehicle Rental, commented saying, “We are delighted to welcome Volkswagen’s BlueMotion product onto our fleet. Being able to offer our customers the choice to hire quality Volkswagen product while making their contribution to reducing their carbon footprint represents a unique and powerful selling opportunity.”

Nick Berry, the Rental and Direct Sales Manager of VW Fleet Services, said, “The Polo has been very well received since launch and we’re delighted that Green Motion has decided to add a number of our BlueMotion products to its hire fleet. Customers are increasingly concerned about the environmental impact of their motoring activities and our vehicles enable them to “do their bit” while offering a high quality driving experience.”

The BlueMotion tag after these VW models means that they belong to the group of the most fuel efficient vehicles of the German automaker. It means that the VW Polo BlueMotion has a combined fuel economy figure of 74.3 miles per gallon and just 99g/km of carbon dioxide emission. Because of these figures, the Polo BlueMotion is exempt from Vehicle Excise Duty. The engine of VW Polo BlueMotion which is a three-cylinder 1.4-liter TDI 80 PS with diesel particulate filter is not the only thing that was optimized to decrease fuel consumption and emissions. Its tires, aerodynamics, gears, wheels, interior, and body sound were optimized as well.

It was last year that Canadians were all able to check out two new VW models – the City Jetta and the City Golf. VW has only decided that time that it needs its two models to compete at entry-level prices in Canada.

But since the models of City Golf and City Jetta which were introduced in Canada looked more like how they looked like ten years ago. For that, the German automaker VW had to do a rethink of its design and so the 2008 model for the two VW entry-levels in Canada were redesigned to look more like today’s vehicles. The current VW design had been incorporated into both the front and rear ends of the VW City Jetta and Golf. Thus, it now looks more modern, more today’s vehicles.

The 2.0-liter single-cam four engine under their bonnets are relatively refined and capable and produces 115 horsepower. Another great thing about it is that it can generate its torque at a relatively low revolution per minute. This engine is then mated to either a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic with Tiptronic that is now available in most new generation vehicles.

Inside, both the driver and the passengers will be happy seating on its comfortable chairs. Their chairs are both supportive and ergonomic, thanks to the tilt-and-telescopic steering wheels which have now been made standard on the models. These seats are even height adjustable so they really provide comfort to whoever sits on them. And to complete the modern look of the VW City Jetta and City Golf, the steering wheel and the instrument panel have been enhanced.

Luxurious features on these two VW models include multi-speaker audio system, USB jack, and auxiliary jack for the jump-drive type devices to be used on the cars as well.

For safety, VW has made the four-wheel disc brakes with anti-lock have been made standard on these two models. If potential buyers want to add more safety equipment on the model, then they can opt to install electronic stability control, side curtain airbags and side airbags, for an additional price of course.

Yet another cool reason to upgrade to a better mobile phone unit. You might be handling your mobile phone instead of the wheels the next time you find yourself driving. For the past months, Delphi has been working on developing such applications for the currently popular iPhone, smartphone and Blackberry. But don’t get over excited yet. The concept was just presented by Delphi in this year’s Consumer Electronic Show (CES). Done thru Bluetooth, Delphi’s Wireless Vehicle Access softwar ...

How to Select The Auto Shipping Company that's Right for You

Shipping a car can seem like a very overwhelming task, but if the following simple steps, suggestions and tips are followed, the process can be fast, and painless.

1. Get Quotes 2. Read and Understand Contracts 3. Check on Insurance 4: Inspections

Get Quotes: Some of the questions most often asked are "What will the total cost be to ship my car??" and "How do I find the auto shipping company that best suits my needs?" The best and easiest way to obtain these answers is to submit a request for several auto shipping quotes, and then compare prices and car shipping companies to find the one that best suits your needs. In order to best customize your quotes, you should be prepared to provide the following information:

*Origination/Destination *Approximate departure date *Year/Make/Model of vehicle(s) *Type of car transport service desired such as open or enclosed car transport.

After receiving your quotes, find out what payment method the carriers use, and what forms of payment are accepted (credit card, cashiers check etc). Some auto shipping companies don't require any type of payment in advance; others will require a deposit of 10-25% of the total fee. Occasionally a carrier will require full payment in advance. Carriers can vary widely in their billing practices, so be sure to ask what they are.

Contracts: Read your contract carefully, and get any questions that you may have answered in writing. Be sure that you are comfortable with the answers before signing anything. Do not rely on verbal promises. After signing your contract your auto shipping company will always refer you back to your contract for any questions or complaints that you may have.

Be sure to look for any clauses that may state that there are no guaranteed pickup or delivery dates. Although most vehicles are delivered within the predicted time frame, many transporters will not guarantee a delivery date.

For your protection, be sure to ask for a clause (in writing) that will waive any cancellation fees if the car isn't picked up by the auto shipping company within an agreed upon number of days of the scheduled pickup date.(3-14 is standard) If you are promised an exact date, get it in writing, as well as the remedy if the transporter is unable to perform as promised. (Discounted rate, no cancellation fee, rental reimbursement etc)

Insurance: Any licensed and bonded transporter will have insurance that would cover any damage or theft while in possession of the auto shipping company. Ask for a copy of transporters insurance coverage, and find out whether their insurance is primary or secondary to your own car insurance. It’s also a good idea to check with your own insurance company to verify coverage while in transit. Be aware that typically neither insurance company will cover possessions left inside the car during shipping. This is why most companies do not allow personal items to be shipped in your vehicle. Also keep in mind that extra weight in the car could damage the undercarriage during loading and unloading.

Inspections: You will be asked do to a vehicle inspection at both drop off and delivery to ensure that no damage has been done. This is for the protection of all parties involved. It is a good idea to wash the car before hand so that documentation of the cars condition is easier. Be sure to note mileage and the underside of front and rear bumpers. Don't pick your car if you can't verify its condition. Problems don't often occur, but if the vehicle is signed for and then damage is found you will have little or no recourse.

While most auto shipping experiences are problem and worry free, in the event that damage is found, document it with your driver, get his signature, and then contact the car shipping company. The transport company should work with you to reimburse you for any damage that was done.

If you take all of the above into consideration, and ask the suggested questions, you should have an easy, hassle free auto shipping experience. Happy Shipping!

Toni Anderson is a marketing specialist with The iRelocation Network. For more information and tips on shipping your car, and a free, online instant quote please visit our site at autoshipping

How to Avoid Counterfeit Auto Accessories

If you are unfamiliar with what makes aftermarket accessories the genuine article or a shady deal, then you may not be able to recognize a counterfeit performance car accessory when you see it. Counterfeits exist in every conceivable market, and discount car accessories are no exception.

This problem is nothing new. Over the last 20 years, criminals have sold phony high-performance car accessories for reduced prices. Loss of revenue for the automotive industry is not the on negative result. The less expensive price can save you some money while driving a car from accelerating gas prices. But consider this: most discount car accessories and parts sacrifice quality and safety with inexpensive and weaker materials.

Counterfeiters are clever people. They can create aftermarket auto accessories realistic enough to fool you long enough for it to be too late to do anything about. Several years ago, CBS Evening News ran a report on very crucial aftermarket automotive accessories: counterfeit brake pads. These pads were made of compressed grass clippings and wood chips, useless as brake pads. When you need to stop fast in an emergency situation, grass isn't going to cut it. When it comes to purchasing performance automotive accessories, stick with a brand name you know you can trust.

Is there a way for the average person to be protected against after market automotive accessory fraud?

Here is something to remember: A price that seem too good to be true, generally is! Seeing a popular brand of auto body kit that you've been eying available for half price may be a scam. Many counterfeiters have started to counter this approach by lowering their price just enough to avoid suspicion. Don't forget to do your research. Don't stop as soon as you find one instance of what you're looking for. Comparing prices to determine the average price for the accessory will allow you to make an intelligent decision on what you have observed.

Look closely at the package. At first a package may look creditable, but then some signs appear that it could be selling a scam.

Go to shops that you have had experience with or those that have received high reviews. Visit places you know about, or have been recommended to you by someone you trust. Sometimes the shops are being fooled just as much as you are, and every small shop is not deliberately being crooked by selling you discount car accessories. Distributors will usually purchase from those which have provided good service and good products. Consider purchasing from distributor that you've had previous good experiences with.

Be directly in touch with the manufacturer. The maker of the car can usually tell you if the item is real if you are unsure. Most major companies have protocols for proving the authenticity of accessories. Finding this information may be as simple as the code that is engraved on the part.

Your vehicle, your money, and your life are important. It would be foolish to settle on purchasing discount car accessories just to save a few bucks. Most manufacturers have phone lines or websites devoted to reporting fraudulent aftermarket automotive accessories and parts. Protect yourself, and report these crimes if you feel you've been a victim.

A car enthusiast himself, Alex Springton enjoys customizing his car with the latest aftermarket accessories. Alex gained much of his expertise in a professional repair shop using automotive repair shop software from Winworks and recommends their repair shop management software to other mechanics.
